May 31st, 2013. Peterson-Dumesnil House, Louisville, KY.
Elizabeth and I met a couple years ago through mutual friends. I was immediately struck by her laugh and her smile (it’s seriously one of the most contagious smiles I’ve ever seen). She made me feel really awesome by gushing about how much she liked my photos and we really hit it off talking about all the best foodie spots in town...so when she said she was engaged I (of course) had my finger’s crossed that she would ask me to be her wedding photographer. Her fiance was in Afghanistan at the time, so sadly I had to wait to meet him. It felt like a lot of time went by, but finally I got the long awaited e-mail....they wanted me! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I met Nathen for the first time— I haven’t really known too many men that have been in the service, but when we all got together for coffee I was pleasantly surprised by how sweet (and funny!) he was. He lived up to Liz’s nickname for him —Bunny. I seriously couldn’t (and still can't) believe their amazing chemistry together! Their wedding day was romantic and full of southern charm. I love how close they are with their families—Elizabeth’s father led their ceremony and her five (five!) sisters stood up with her. They all really made me feel like part of the family. The Peterson-Dumesnil House was the perfect location with its huge windows, lovely staircase, and rose-lined gardens. I could go on and on, but instead I'll share the photos with you all!
